End of week 8

20 11 2008

Well I hit the two months barrier! Technically I only have six months left of the treatment for my top teeth, and eight and a half for the bottom. I cannot believe how quickly it is going for me. A lot quicker than I had imagined.

Well this one in now feels easy enough, no pain again, which I think is weird because my orthodontist told me that the next two aligners until I go back will be moving my front teeth .2mm which in teeth movement terms is a lot. I’m thinking the next one is going to be a lot worse than this. Which I guess is lucky because I’m off to Austria on Wednesday next week for some Snowboarding, and really didn’t want to have pain whilst out there. I just hope the cold air doesn’t make my dry mouth worse.

I had some more IPR done this time too. And there is still a little more to do before the treatment completes. Because my front teeth are so bent inwards, it is hard to create the space for the next teeth.

I will post some new update pictures shortly

End of week 7

13 11 2008

Well that has to be one of the easiest weeks so far! Nothing really to report, no pain, not really feeling that anything was happening. I mean it really just felt like I was wearing the previous aligner still. Which I guess could be bad if it is not fitting right, or moving my teeth like it should.

But I just figure that maybe it is moving back teeth or something like that, so will assume everything is okay.

I have to say though it was a pain having the aligner in whilst out in Slovakia. I really didn’t enjoy going to the bathroom everytime we stopped for coffee or some food or something and wasn’t as strict with the brace as I should have been. But Slovakia was a lovely place, really enjoyed my time out there. Was in Bratislava and had a lot of fun, even with having to put up with the brae there.

End of week 6

6 11 2008

So a very quick update here as I am due to fly out to Slovakia and have a lot of packing to do and so much to get ready!

I changed my aligner early this week, I actually changed on Tuesday because the last aligner caused me a lot of pain in my teeth and I didn’t want that whilst away. But really this one was no trouble at all. It feels like my back teeth are moving more this time around. I am not sure if they do it in stages between the front and back, but these ones are easy, so should be an easy fortnight before I get them changed again.

The gaps on the sides caused by the IPR (teeth shaving) have closed but there’s still a gap on the front. Now I seem to remember my Orthodontist telling me there is still more to be done on the front, so hope that he doesn’t do too much and leave me with a permanent gap.

Anyway, nothing more really to report this time around, everything is going well, and I am starting to notice the inward twist in the front of my teeth is actually starting to straiten out, which is good, because up until now I hadn’t noticed too much of a difference in my teeth appearance, so nice when you do notice.

Still no one has noticed the brace, and people are still shocked when I tell them about it. And an old friend I saw couldn’t believe them. My Dad even asked when I was getting my brace, because he couldn’t see it, but then to be honest, I doubt he would have even seen a metal brace lol.
