End of week 6

6 11 2008

So a very quick update here as I am due to fly out to Slovakia and have a lot of packing to do and so much to get ready!

I changed my aligner early this week, I actually changed on Tuesday because the last aligner caused me a lot of pain in my teeth and I didn’t want that whilst away. But really this one was no trouble at all. It feels like my back teeth are moving more this time around. I am not sure if they do it in stages between the front and back, but these ones are easy, so should be an easy fortnight before I get them changed again.

The gaps on the sides caused by the IPR (teeth shaving) have closed but there’s still a gap on the front. Now I seem to remember my Orthodontist telling me there is still more to be done on the front, so hope that he doesn’t do too much and leave me with a permanent gap.

Anyway, nothing more really to report this time around, everything is going well, and I am starting to notice the inward twist in the front of my teeth is actually starting to straiten out, which is good, because up until now I hadn’t noticed too much of a difference in my teeth appearance, so nice when you do notice.

Still no one has noticed the brace, and people are still shocked when I tell them about it. And an old friend I saw couldn’t believe them. My Dad even asked when I was getting my brace, because he couldn’t see it, but then to be honest, I doubt he would have even seen a metal brace lol.

Thanks for reading

I had to have IPR, which is basically where they shave the enamel off the sides of the teeth to make space when they’re moving. It doesn’t hurt, but it is uncomfortable feeling it happening.
