My refinements have arrived.

24 08 2009

Okay so last week my refinements finally arrived. But it took a call from me to find out – apparently they’d been sitting at the dentist waiting for me to call to make an appointment, but how was I to know that they were ready.

Anyway, I’ve got to have another 7 aligners on the top, and no further ones on the bottom. But I also have another 3 added to the 7 for ’space saving’ which is where they move the teeth in closer together if required at the end of treatment just to finish it all off.

So in all I’m a little dissapointed that I’m going to end the year as I started it – in braces – but I’m looking forward to now having a clear ending in sight.

I’ve one attachment now for the rest of the aligners on the side, so fortunately nothing on the front of my teeth again.

I won’t post any pictures now because they’re the same as the previous post, but will update again in 6 weeks after I’ve been for some more trays.

Thanks for reading.

End of week…..

5 03 2009

Well… I actually have no idea what week this is. It has been ageeeeeeeees since I posted to this blog. I have been so busy with everything else in life that this has kind of slipped my mind. But I am here, replying now. I’m on aligners 11 now of 16 for the bottom and 19 for the top, so about two thirds through. And here’s the progress pictures of how I’m getting on.

I will try my best to reply in three weeks, when I’m due to go back to the Ortho for my next set of aligners. :)

Here are some before and after pictures up to today.

I’ve split a tray

6 10 2008

Just a quick note in before my week 2 progress update to mention that I managed to split my top tray at the front. As you can see from the picture it was in quite an important place. I am assuming that this would impact the trays ability to hold my front teeth in place. A quick call to the Orthodontist and he assured me it should be okay to hold until Thursday when I change to the next set of aligners.

It got me thinking that if I had been a couple of days into this set of aligners what would be the situation then. I am assuming that I would need new trays, and if I did, would I have to pay for them, or would they come free of charge? I am going to bring this up with my Orthodontist in a couple of weeks when I go back for trays 3 and 4. I am hoping that since I went for the full Invisalign treatment rather than express that this would be covered, as it was accidental damage.

Anyway, I will let you know how I get on in a couple of weeks, and now for my weekly update.
